Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I make seat reservations?

  • Reservations are not compulsory on most European trains. However, they are highly recommended for long-distance trains, during peak travel periods or if a certain connection is essential for your travel schedule.
Unfortunately, www.eurail.com does not yet offer reservations on our site.
You can make reservations at larger European train stations or often through the websites of the various national railway companies.
You can also make reservations through one of the Eurail Group agents. Visit the page Eurail Sales Agents for more information on the worldwide sales agents.

The advantage of making reservations at European stations is that reservations are non-changeable and non-refundable. They are also less expensive if made in Europe at a local train station ticketing office. The advantage of booking before your travel is that you will be assured of a seat on the specific train that you wish to travel on.
