Does Eurail offer Family Passes? What are the costs for children?
If you are a family with children 3 or younger on their first day of travel, then your children can travel for free. You will not need to buy a ticket for your children. If there are 2 or more adults, these can buy a Saver Pass, which allows 15% discount on the Adult fare.
If you are a family with children in the age between 4 and 11 on their first day of travel, then you can all buy a Saver Pass. The Adults will receive a 15% discount on the Adult fare, and the children will then pay half of the Saver fare.
If your children are aged between 12 and 26 on their first day of travel, then they can get a discount by buying a Youth Pass. However, this Youth Pass is valid for travel in second class only. The Adults can then buy a Saver Pass, but would need to downgrade to second class, for the family to be able to sit together. Alternatively, all people over 12 can together buy the Saver Pass and receive a 15% discount.
